| Handguard/Throttle Yamaha IT490 hand guards can be used if they are carefully trimmed. Tape the hydraulic brake line at the low spot, between the metal crimp and the flexible line, to prevent stress. The top (push) throttle cable can be safely removed, improving throttle action. |

| XR350R / XR500R Gas Tank Padding Gas tank padding packs quickly and puts the weight of the gas tank on the mounting brackets. Re-pad so the weight is carried on the frame's backbone. If the tank drops when the attaching bolts are removed, then it's time to add padding. |
