| Hello all, its been a while since I stopped by. I found a 2003 CRF150F, I have a 2003 XR100R I talked to the manager, he said the biek is in good condition, and has good tires. The dealer is asking $1,799, I'm not sure what the difference will be though. What do you guys think, my bike is in pretty good condition, a few little scratches on the fenders, and the rear tire is kinda worn. I was hoping to get atleast $1000. |

| Big difference...my family has owned both bikes. The 150 feels like a real motorcycle in its handling and power delivery. Its taller and much faster. The suspension is night and day better. I think you should move both the buy price and the expected sell price down by $200 and you have a great swap. Good luck! |

| So I would only make $800 off my bike. I told my dad the difference wouldn't be more than $700. |

Shaun--sorry if I am confusing you a bit...Here's what I meant: First, I'm not sure what your 100 is worth...maybe you can get 1000, but likely not from the dealer unless they agree to give you your price for the 100 and sell you the 150 for their price, 1800. If you sell the 100 yourself, not to the dealer, you may get 1000 but I would expect between 800 and 1000 is realistic. Then you can go to the dealer and offer them 700 over what you got for the 100...play hardball with them and make a "take it or leave it offer". Everyone negotiates, especially on used bikes. Most dealers take in used bikes on trades for new ones and they are very motivated to get the used ones off the sales floor.
Also, you may be able to find a cherry 150 being sold by a local person, not a dealer. I just sold my son's '03 150 last year for 1700 and it was perfect. Take your time and work both ends of the deal. Hope this helps. |

Holly crap, this thing looks nice!
Do you think I should try and get it for a different price? I decided that I want my bro to go with me since he is great at getting people to go lower, he got his Kawasaki 06 bruteforce 750i for 5,500. I was just talkign on the phone with my brother, he says I need to just go in with $600 cash, just tell them I will trade my bike plus $600 cash for the crf150f, what do you think? |

| I didn't get it, it was much smaller than I thought, the 230 actually fits me best. I also looked at a warrior, also they would only give me $500 for my bike and my bike. My bike is in perfect condition, he had a 03 XR100R for $1,400 in worst condition than my bike and he told me he could not give me more because he can only sell my bike for $800, this is also the place I bought the bike from back in 04. I'm going to sell it privately now, I think I can make more money, does having 1 year left on my warranty make it worth any more? |
