The Larose forest near Ottawa Ontario (about 28000 acres)is under attack. The local council is trying to pass a bylaw that will exclude motorcycles from the forest, but still allow ATV's and snowmobiles. The Ontario Federation of Trail Riders (OFTR) is lobbying against this bylaw but they need help. Please take a minute to sign this petition to show your support.

- Larose Forest to Ban Off-Road Motorcycles Petition

Remember, it could be your local riding area next, and it only takes a minute!!!

Thanks!!

Thanks guys!!! While none of you will likely never ride there, and chances are I won't either, the ones who do really appreciate this.

Also, the more riding areas that get taken away, the more pressure there is on the remaining ones.

i dont understand is why they will allow atvs but not motorcycles. to me a atv has 2 more wheels which is twice the damage it does to trails. so to me its either ban everything or allow everything.

I've noticed this same thing in the states too.

I just searched a bit about it, and it sounds like bikes are NOT allowed, although there were supposed to have been meetings in Sept and Oct regarding this issue. I haven't heard otherwise, so I'm assuming bikes haven't been allowed back in yet.

Nope, bikes are not allowed in the Larose forest right now, but everything else is.

I'm confident that they will open it back up though, now that the government acknowledges riding as a legit form of exercise. It may take a little while though.
