I have shimmed the needle .070" on my 2006 DRZ250 with the 32mm "California" carb. This seems to have eliminated the flat spot between 1/2 3/4 and full throttle. I now have a #15 pilot, #137.5 main, fuel screw out 2 3/4 turns, with the snorkel removed and (4) 1" holes in the top and side of the airbox. I have a UNI filter, and stock exhaust except for grinding the header welds. The bike is much more torquey and free revving than stock. I wish it had an overdrive 6th gear as the only limitation as a dual sport is the estimated 65 mph top speed. This bike was sold as a dual sport in Australia and I wonder if that bike has different hearing. The overall ratio in 6th gear is 9.932:1. I wish it was geared like my old 1976 Husky 250WR. Creeper low, 2-4th for racing and overdrive 5th and 6th.

2005 XT225 - Dunlop 606 front, Kenda 760 rear, Promoto Billet rack, fuel screw 3 turns out, 130 main, 42.5 pilot, Z1 exhaust mod, 1/2 snorkel,UNI filter, Bill's footpegs.
2006 DRZ250 - Ground out header weld, Dual sport lighting-bike is plated. Promotobillet rack. #15 pilot, #137.5 main (CA carb) airbox opened up. UNI filter, needle shimmed .07"
