hey guys
I've got a persistent shaking problem with my 02 xr650r. it goes smooth for a few seconds then shakes 3-4 times. it's a pretty hard shake and makes riding the bike difficult. it "feels like" the front wheel is out of round although i notice it comes through the seat as well. the shake is speed sensitive, the interval remains but the shake intensity increases. I've checked: wheels, both true and round, spokes tensioned, new road tires(no slime)it did it w/ the knobbies as well, chain tensioned, no stiff links, both sprockets tight, brake rotors true and tight(it still does it with the calipers completely open) all fork/ front-end bolts tight. i'm at the end of my problem solving ability. anything will help.
thanks again guys

This is just a guess but I'd check the front wheel bearings then the rear. I'm just assuming here but your bike rides OK at any speed and then starts shaking out of the blue? If your wheel bearings are OK, look at the front end from the triple clamps on down. Shaking sometimes is inherent at higher speeds or rough terrain, that's why they invented steering dampers, but excessive is not.
