If I ride it soft through the gears it never bogs down. If I try to gun it and carry the motor into the higher rpms it bogs down.
What could cause this. I have adjusted the float to ensure adequate fuel supply is getting to the bowl. Have a "to-do" to pull the carb and clean it ..... |

| Did It have this problem before the float was adjusted? Did you clean the carb at that time? |

I have adjusted the float greatly, I can't imagine that its getting starved at the float. I even had to back the float adjustment off a bit because I was dumping fuel. |

Assuming the carburetor is OK and the main jet is not clogged. You might want to check your ignition timing. If the ignition timing is right, go back to the carb and clean it. Make sure it's assembled and adjusted correctly. If the carb checkout/cleaning doesn't fix-it, go on to look at the valves and valve timing.
Let us know what you find out. |

I was looking at how to get the carb out. The two throttle cables look like they need to be loosened to get it out. Whats a good way to mark them so that I put it back together properly?
I don't want to have to fiddle around adjusting it after I clean the carb. |

I usually just unscrew and release part number 17 which holds both cables. It gives me enough slack to free both and saves time.

Sounds like you're either running lean on the top end (WOT) or hitting the rev limiter (highly doubtful). If all the above advice here fails ... try a richer main jet. |
