Hello to all. Could somebody explain me, how works this "aircut stuff" (No.9 in the picture below)? I took the carb to pieces and tried to understand the function of this component, but unsuccessfully... What would happen, if I sealed off both the aircut valve port and the top front carb port (theese two ports are usually connected). Would it make any change?

I try to understand how my carb works, so thanks a lot for your patient answers.

Jan

When the valve sees high vacuum it richens the mixture a little to help stop popping on deceleration.

I did some research ... What would you recommend?

1) leave it as it is (i.e. connected ACV and top-front carb port) or
2) remove the connection, seal both ports and leave the spring in ACV (so that this particular system remains permanently in lean condition) or
3) remove the connection, seal both ports and take out the ACV spring (i.e. the acv system remains permanently rich)

I will try it all anyway, but any thoughts appreciated, thanks.

Can I ask why you want to change it?

The 'lean' setting you would get from disconnecting it would leave it in the 'normal' position.

But, no advantage gained by disconnecting it.
