I live around New Orleans. Not much riding around here. I usually go to Mississippi to ride trails - about 2 hours from the house.

FLORENCE OREGON.
Oregon Dunes National Rec Area.
Lots and lots of sand dunes a few water holes and some quicksand. Paddle tire is a must!
The author of the movie "DUNE" was living here and was inspired by the dunes.

Well, I'm in San Jose, Ca.
My main bike is an XR400.
Most all decent riding is between 2 and 3 hours away.
I spend most of my riding time in the Sierra's

I defected from the "People's Republic of New Jersey" 13 years ago and happily resettled in in Phoenix, Arizona, which is close to 480 square miles in area.

I live in the northeast part of the city and there is plenty of State Trust land (permit required) National Forest and Bureau of Land Management land within a 20 minute drive from my house.

My main bike is a CR250, but my standby XR250 is perfect for some of the more technical singletrack and mountain trails terrain found just outside of metro Phoenix.

Imperial Beach, California. Growing up I used to ride on the beach all the way to the border (cross the river mouth) and up to the bull ring. Ole! There was lots of riding near the border, now it is all off limits. Horses only. Now I gotta go about 15 miles east towards the mountains. Still some riding there near the border but it could close tomorrow. The desert is 2 hours away and the Sierra's are about 8 hours away. I really envy you guys in the east riding in the trees. They haven't been invented out here yet.

Grew up in Central Massachusetts, just a few miles from the MA, CT, RI tri state border. We had all kinds of great riding, 10 years ago, half of it is posted or developed now. Quick bike rundown, first was a TRX 125 quad, bulletproof. Got me hooked on Red. Next was an RM 80, gutsy little bike, got me hooked on two wheels. Then I moved up to a YZ 80 works bike, with a 100cc head bored 25 over, ridiculosly fast, blew the doors off stock 125's. Then picked up a Yamaha Warrior, and a CR 125. All before the age of 18.

Now, after a 10 year hiatus im back with an XR 400 I've only ridden once due to the 6 inches of freaken snow we get here every 24 hours! Hav'nt brought the bike to the island yet, but riding here should be fun, there are tight trails, a sandpit, a track, and miles of public dirt fire roads to tear around on.

C'mom spring!!!

Ahhhhhhh! The Dunes are outrageous. When I was in the Coast Guard I was stationed at North Bend and rode the Dunes all the time. What a blast. Tell me....is Beaver Hill riding area still open? I was one of the crew that layed out the trail system, got money from the State, and did the work to get the trails cut in. Loved Beaver Hill. I was also involved in building an MX track next to a harbor channel. I think that was in Florence. Please let me know if it is still being used.

Thanks.

I live in Alamogordo, New Mexico (no that is not south of the border). Great desert riding and mountain riding. Currently riding an XR400 (and plan to stay with it for a long long time). 48 years old and still outrunning a lot of the young guys. I may not be as fast, but I am smart and don't crash as often, therefore I get there first.

John I have never heard of Beaver Hill and unfortunatly no MX track any more.
Between Coos Bay and Bandon there is a area of tree and root infested trails (Im exagerating a little) about Thirty miles worth. Its called Winchester riding area. Its maintained by the South Coast Trail Riders. they are a part of the HONDA Riders Clubs.
I ride mostly at the South Jetty dunes . Twenty miles south at Winchester dunes and near North Bend is another dune riding area.
North of Florence there is Two other smaller dune riding area,Clear Lake Dunes and Joshua Dunes.
Yes folks ALL THE SAND YOU CAN EAT for the price of a OHV sticker.
John I have lived here 4years and have never heard any thing about a MX track.
