cool bike, it would have taken time

8/5/2005 by Meho - Owner
Thanx Scott, it took about 2 months to get it like this, but I had a few friends that had parts and time to help me.

11/8/2005 by travis
how did the shocks fit ,did u have to do any mods ?

1/11/2006 by Meho - Owner
The front and rear shocks just takes time to put in with out mods. We had to add a few inches to the kick stand or it would fall over :)

1/18/2006 by travis
hey did the exhaust give any power?

1/29/2006 by travis
was the reserv or piggy back in the way of the air box ?????

5/13/2006 by Meho - Owner
This sping we added a new clutch, new rings and high dome piston. MORE POWER!!! It is nice to have the power and suspension of a 250 with the weight of a 200. Ride safe guys!

5/13/2006 by Meho - Owner
The pipe gave the ability to wheely without pulling up on the bars in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. The reserve(piggy), well we had to add about 2" of hose and zip tied it to the side of the frame. Thanx for asking.

This summer I am going to "TRY" to change the rear tire over to an XR250. I want disk brakes in the back. Other than that I am totaly happy with what we created. Thanx guys!

9/30/2006 by AlexForward
hey, how much more lift did you get from the 250 suspension, and you said that is fit good with no mods needed, do you know if this can be done with CR/CRF suspension with no mod, or does only the XR250/450 line fit with no mod

4/27/2007 by Meho
I have not worked with the newer frames yet, sorry but i'm not sure if that will work. let me know if you can. we gained a few inches, I'm 5'10" 210lbs and when I sit on it just the tips of my toes tough the ground. It Doesn't sink in the back.

Was it hard to put the power pipe on and where did you get the pipe? I want one for my '98 xr200r.

5/5/2009 12:08:12 PM by Nathan
Nice! What years 250s can you use the shock and fork from? I have a 96 xr200r and would like to do the same thing.

5/22/2009 1:44:12 PM by AXE
I can't believe an XR200 can look that cool!!! That bike is sweet!

6/1/2009 2:34:33 PM by Nathan
What year of 250 did the suspension parts come from?

8/22/2009 10:28:38 AM by joey
Hey man, I'm 14 and I really like what you did to your bike. I have a 1995 Honda XR80R but in a couple months or so I'm getting an XR200. Any tips/pointers you can give me? I'm 5' 2", do you think I'll fit on it?

8/28/2009 8:24:46 PM by Ravi
Hi, this is Ravi from Nepal. My boss wants to buy a secondhand XR200. How would I get one to Nepal, any ideas?

So with the back end, the swingarm is from a 200 or 250? And did the shock just go straight in or what? Because I'm thinking of doing the same thing you've done and detailed info on how exactly you did it would be extremely helpful. Cheers

12/5/2009 7:40:58 PM by Meho98
Sorry took so long, we changed the front forks to an '85 XR350, and the rear shock is from the same 350. ATM we are tearing it all down for paint. The 80s and 90s XR used the same setups so we didn't make any major changes. We just tried and it fit, lol. As soon as I can, I'll post up the pics of the restore process.

How much did the pipe cost?

1/12/2010 7:58:13 AM by Meho98
That FMF pipe (at the time) was $350, a universal FMF that was equal to it was only $200. I could have saved a bit of cash, but didn't know about that at the time.

1/12/2010 8:03:57 AM by Meho98
The 250 parts were from a 1995 model. The swingarm is still the 200.

Well we had a bit of down time with this bike, blew a huge chunk out of the head gasket. So that's all been re-done and it runs like a champ again. We had put a Gold series Moose Racing o-ring chain on it over a year ago and to this date we haven't had to adjust it at all. I love this chain!

6/12/2010 5:22:06 AM by Meho
Well... we don't have it any more. It was stolen 4 days ago.

6/17/2010 11:57:11 AM by keith
I was wondering when you put the rear shock on, did you run into any trouble? I have an XR200 that I'm doing the same rebuild to and I got the front end done no problem... But I have been trying to get the rear shock on and it's acting as if it needs the link to be about an inch lower. I could be going about it the wrong way though. But I love what you did with yours. I got the same parts to do mine like that, I'm just having some trouble getting the rear shock on. Thanks for any help.

Sorry to hear about the theft. Don't let it bum you out. Top what you did with this bike with another one and be even happier!
