| 4Strokes.com Reviews: Wolfman Enduro Tank Bag, Enduro Tool Kit & Enduro Carry All |
Founded in 1992, Wolfman is a company specializing in soft luggage and storage bags for all types of street and dirt bikes. I know what you are thinking, "What could possibly be so different between soft luggage and bags for motorcycles?" There is a difference, as you will see here in our review. Owned and operated by a motorcycle enthusiast that rides on and off road, Wolfman designs its products from real-world experience. The sole product line of Wolfman is soft luggage and storage bags for motorcycles, and as you might expect, this is what it does best. As we found out, Wolfman motorcycle soft luggage and storage bags are superior to almost any other related product on the market today! Wolfman Enduro Tank Bag
Most notable features on the Wolfman Enduro Tank Bag include:
The Wolfman Enduro Tank Bag measures approximately 6" wide x 8½" long x 4" deep in front and 6" deep in back. It is constructed primarily of heavy coated 500-Denier Cordura. The 4½" x 8"-windowed map pocket attaches to the top of the tank bag very securely with hook and loop fastener. The Enduro Tank Bag attaches securely to the bike at three points: typically around either frame rail at the seat-tank junction and over the tank and around the front part of the frame where all tubes come together at the headset. We tried the Enduro Tank Bag on several different dirt bikes (Suzuki DR-Z400 pictured below) with no major problems. On some models, the Enduro Tank Bag may be on the gas cap or up against the vent hose but this should not be a problem. For bikes with a steep seat-tank junction like the Honda XR400R, the Enduro Tank Bag will slant back further limiting how far you can get up on the tank in a turn. For the most part though, when using a tank bag you would not be riding that aggressively. At the time of this review, cost on the Wolfman Enduro Tank Bag was $79.99. You may be thinking this is a little steep but if you ride street bikes then you already know any good tank bag costs this much. The Enduro Tank Bag is available in black and has an optional rain cover that costs $16.99. Different size windowed map pockets are available as options. The Enduro Tank Bag and options can be ordered directly from the Wolfman Website listed below. 4Strokes.com Rating - 1 2 3 4 5 (Rating System) We absolutely love our Wolfman Enduro Tank Bag! Construction is of only high quality materials and the workmanship is second to none. When we were on the phone with the owner of Wolfman discussing the product, we heard him testing zippers and buckles so we know first hand that all Wolfman products go through stringent quality control. We could not find fault with the Enduro Tank Bag and would have no qualms recommending it to anyone wanting more soft-sided storage for their dual sport machine. And for this, we gave the Wolfman Enduro Tank Bag a perfect rating of 5!
Another very unique soft-sided bag from Wolfman is the Enduro Tool Kit, which is actually a rear fender bag. What makes the Wolfman Enduro Tool Kit so unique and different from all other rear fender bags is its ability to be removed easily from the rear fender and without tools. The Enduro Tool Kit attaches to a base (shown below) with ample hook and loop faster as well as two straps with buckles that double as compression straps. Note: compression straps are just that, straps that surround an object and compress items within to keep them from shaking around violently while riding. The 2-liter Wolfman Enduro Tool Kit measures approximately 5½" wide x 8½" long x 4" deep and construction is of heavy coated 1000-Denier Cordura. Bolt pattern on the base is 3¼" x 4" on centers. The hook and loop fastener runs the entire length of the base and is 3¾" wide so between it and the two compression straps there should be no fear of loosing the bag while riding. We tried the Enduro Tool Kit on several dirt bikes (Suzuki DR-Z400 pictured below), with all bikes requiring the base to be mounted lengthwise with the rear fender, which is common for most large rear fender bags.
As with the Enduro Tank Bag above, we could find no faults with the Enduro Tool Kit itself. However, if you are not already accustomed to a rear fender bag then you may be a little annoyed with the fact of always hitting it with your boot when swinging a leg over but that is something you just have to get used to with a rather large object sitting atop your rear fender. In addition, sometimes with large rear fender bags, especially ones carrying a lot of weight, you may need to reinforce the underneath side of the rear fender. With the Enduro Tool Kit we would have liked to seen an optional rain cover. At the time of this review, cost on the Wolfman Enduro Tool Kit was $44.99. We think this is a reasonable price for a rear fender bag of this quality that can also be removed and carried around like a tool bag. The Enduro Tool Kit is available in black and can be ordered directly from the Wolfman Website listed below. 4Strokes.com Rating - 1 2 3 4½ 5 (Rating System) The Enduro Tool Kit is another high quality product from Wolfman. The best feature we think is the ability for it to be removed and carried around like a soft-side tool bag. We found no faults with the Enduro Tool Kit itself but we do wish there was an optional rain cover. We gave the Wolfman Enduro Tool Kit rear fender bag a near-perfect rating of 4½! Wolfman Enduro Carry All (Front Number-Plate
Bag) Most notable features on the Wolfman Enduro Carry All include:
The Wolfman Enduro Carry All measures approximately 11½" wide x 7" high x 3½" deep and construction is of heavy coated 500-Denier Cordura. A 4½" x 8"-windowed map pocket attaches to the top of the Enduro Carry All with hook and loop fastener. The windowed map pocket mounts either horizontally (8" wide x 4½" high, as shown below on the Suzuki DR-Z400) or vertically (4½" wide x 8" high). The Enduro Carry All attaches securely to the front number-plate, handlebar and fork tubes. We tried the Enduro Carry All on several dirt bikes, all with headlights (Suzuki DR-Z400 pictured below), and did not see any problems at all, not even on bikes with the smallest of front number-plates like the KTM MXC/EXC. The Enduro Carry All never once interfered with a headlight. Even though the Enduro Carry All attaches to the handlebar and triple clamp, typically it is not a good idea to load front number-plate bags up real heavy. We would save the real heavy stuff for a rear fender bag on a reinforced fender, Enduro Tank Bag or a fanny pack. At the time of this review, retail price on the Wolfman Enduro Carry All was $69.99. Other manufacturers are priced between $40-$45 but they do not have a windowed map pocket or compression straps and do not mount as securely. The Enduro Carry All is available in black and does not have an optional rain cover. Different size windowed map pockets are available as options. The Enduro Carry All and options can be ordered directly from the Wolfman Website listed below. 4Strokes.com Rating - 1 2 3 4 5 (Rating System) All Wolfman products that we have evaluated have been nothing but innovative, feature-rich and high quality. The Enduro Carry All is no exception. It was hard to find fault with it but since front number-plate bags are most commonly used to carry extra riding gear or clothes we definitely would have liked to seen a rain cover for it. In addition, we are not sure if we could justify the extra $20, so we will leave that up to you to decide. We rated the Wolfman Enduro Carry All front number-plate bag at 4.
