4Strokes.com Technical: Dual Sport Chain Guard Flap by HorseRider650

Chain Guard Extension The Honda XR650L motorcycle was not designed
to ever stay clean and polished like a Harley or other street bike. It was made
to get dirty. However, one day after routine maintenance on the chain I decided
to take the bike for a test ride. My wife asked me if she could go along. So
off we went. Upon our return and much to my fear and dismay, there was grease
on the back of her new white riding jacket. So here is a cheap mod you can do
to the chain guard to keep chain lube at bay.
You just need a couple stainless steal screws and nuts or pop rivets. I found a piece of plastic from the air intake of a 1983 Buick Century to make the chain guard extension.
This homemade chain guard extension cut down on chain grease splatter tremendously.
