Brake lever pivot bolt and bootA clean modification using Honda OEM parts on the brake and clutch lever assemblies when removing the stock handguards and replacing with bar-mount style handguards. This modification works on any newer model Honda XR that uses a CR style front brake and clutch lever assemblies. It may also work on other models.

Brake lever pivot bolt and bootWhen removing the stock handguards on any late model XR, the brake and clutch lever pivot bolts protrude out from the top and bottom of the perch where they originally held the stock handguard in place.

Brake Lever Parts: Any lever pivot bolt from a mid '80s XR350R (Honda P/N: 90114-166-006) that originally had no hand guards will work just fine. The boot used on the XR400R in the photos was from a 2000 CR250R (Honda P/N: 53176-ML3-791) but any newer model CR brake lever boot should work.

Clutch Lever Parts: Use Honda P/N: 53177-430-000 for the clutch-side boot and Honda P/N: 90114-428-870 for the clutch-side bolt.
