4Strokes.com Honda Technical: Air-Box Inlet Snorkel Removal
The
intake and exhaust of most modern dirt bikes come restricted from the factory.
Removal of the stock air-box inlet snorkel under the seat will allow your XR to
breath more free. The addition of an aftermarket unrestricted (free flow) air
filter will allow your XR to breath even better. If you want to take it to the
next level, then an exhaust or exhaust work is in order. All of these modifications
will really bring your XR to life! Just remember whenever you do modifications
to the intake and/or exhaust, you need to also check and adjust the jetting afterwards.
Modifications like these will enhance almost any four-stroke dirt bike. Other Related 4Strokes.com Technical Articles: Carburetor Jetting - Mag Reprint | Carburetor Overview | Carburetor Overview | How to Read Your Spark Plug
